Guest Assistant (Receptionist) — 5 Star Hotel Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Guest Assistant (Receptionist) — 5 Star Hotel to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Improve usage and reduction of consumption of stock without compromising the guest experience;
- Capture and communicate guest preferences to ensure a world class experience, also keeping this information secure and confidential;
- Actively look for ways to up-sell and cross-sell in the company;
- Performs daily pit-check, complete daily check list and ensure that all charges are correctly posted and open accounts settled;
- Assists Duty Managers to ensure world-class service is delivered by working within company procedures, policies and to ensure guest safety;
- Effective use of software and communication tools in making bookings, dealing with arrivals, stayovers, billing and departure of residents and guests.
Requirements:
- Display sense of urgency in meeting guests wishes and needs of the company;
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Software, and various well-known property management systems;
- Valid South African Drivers’ License would be advantageous (but not essential — staff transport is available);
- Ability to work independently within the scope of work, without receiving detailed instructions;
- 1-2 years’ experience in a 5 star environment, some of which should be in a Front Office role;
- Good English communication skills;
- Hospitality-related qualification.
