Our company is looking for a Duty Manager at 4 Star Guest House to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily public areas checks;
  • Daily room checks;
  • Managing of the Nightsbridge reservations system;
  • Daily staff debriefs at commencement of shifts;
  • Checking IN and OUT of guests;
  • Daily ordering of F&B stock as determined by operational levels and within budgets;
  • Daily stocktake reconciliation of minibar and honesty bar consumption;
  • Responding to guest queries and e-mails as per instruction;
  • Breakfast preparation and serving;
  • Daily banking/banking recon;
  • Daily recon of petty cash;
  • Daily recon of linen and laundry consumption;
  • Overseeing of turndown service;
  • Detailed recorded and communicated handovers to ensure seamless operations across shifts;
  • Daily recon of guest supply levels.

Requirements:

  • Experience in managing a team effectively;
  • Fully computer literate (MS Office suite – Excel, Word and Outlook);
  • Local Tour Desk knowledge;
  • Exceptional written and verbal English language skills;
  • Basic proficiency in a European language (with an emphasis on German and / or French);
  • F&B knowledge;
  • Post-graduate diploma in Hospitality Management or similar;
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in a comparable property in a managerial position and/or;
  • A clear understanding of budget and operational cost control;
  • Grade 12 (Matric);
  • Understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures;
  • Experience with Nightsbridge will be to your advantage;
  • Working in rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
