Our company is looking for a Senior ICT Support Engineer — Linux & Security to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and maintain firewall, UTM, IDS and IPS systems;
  • Support ICT governance initiatives and provide input into policy/procedure development;
  • Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions;
  • Communicate areas for improvement to management, to improve the overall effectiveness of security safeguards and controls in the organization;
  • Respond to emerging threats and other forms of targeted attacks, organized crime, ransomware etc;
  • Report to Manager ICT and provide input and support on ICT projects where required;
  • Constant monitoring and notifications of open source vulnerabilities in our applications through the use of Nexus Repository and Nexus Lifecycle;
  • Support and maintain Linux Server environments and Open Source Platforms/Tools;
  • Installing and configuring tools for event monitoring, capacity planning, performance monitoring, etc;
  • Advise on the installation, configuration and upgrade servers in line with policy and system requirements.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years’ experience with Fortigate UTM appliances or Mikrotik firewall;
  • 1+ years’ experience with virtualization e.g. VMware, KVM;
  • Experience with performance optimization and capacity planning of virtualized environments;
  • Experience with penetration testing, cybercrime countermeasures and cyber security assessments;
  • Rolling out and support of open source solutions;
  • Exposure to backup products such as Backup Exec and Veeam Backup and Replication;
  • Monitoring solutions such as Nagios, Zenoss, Zabbix;
  • 5+ years hands on firewalling/security experience;
  • Automation/deployment tools such as Ansible;
  • IT Security assessment/Ethical hacking experience advantageous;
  • 5+ years’ experience and working knowledge of Linux;
  • Experience with managing a Microsoft Active Directory Environments advantageous;
  • Advanced knowledge of networking fundamentals (all OSI layers);
  • Strong troubleshooting skills;
  • Redhat and CentOS skills.
