Company and Job Description:
A well-established property organisation with a diverse portfolio of developments and investments is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its Pretoria-based finance team. The business operates across a range of property activities and offers exposure to a commercially focused environment where finance plays an important role in supporting sustainable growth and sound decision-making. This opportunity is particularly suited to an accountant who has completed articles and has 2–3 years of meaningful commercial experience and is ready to build further depth across the full financial accounting function.Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day financial accounting activities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports
- Process journals and maintain accurate general ledger accounts
- Perform bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare and review VAT and tax-related requirements
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial reporting
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records
- Support audit processes and provide required documentation
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Assist management with financial information and reporting
Job Experience and Skills Required:
Qualifications:- BCom Accounting or related degree
- Completed SAIPA or SAICA Articles
- 2-3 years' commercial accounting experience essential
- Strong financial accounting exposure
- Property experience advantageous but not essential
- VAT and tax
- Financial statement preparation
- Journal processing
- General ledger
- Bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Microsoft Excel
- MDA or MRI experience advantageous
