Home base is a busy general practice on the Isando side of Gauteng.
What your day looks like
- Answer the phones and send clinical questions to the right nurse or doctor
- Code consultations and procedures with ICD-10 and CCSA or NHRPL tariffs
- Take payments, issue receipts and balance the cash-up at close
- Submit claims electronically and work through the rejection report daily
- Send monthly statements and age the debtors book
- Chase short payments with medical schemes and patients
- Open patient files and capture consent forms in line with POPIA
Must-haves
- You keep patient information private, every time
- Matric
- Sound knowledge of ICD-10 coding and medical aid tariff codes
- Experience on a practice system such as GoodX, Elixir, Medinol or Healthbridge
- At least 2 years in a medical practice, hospital or billing bureau
- Friendly on the phone and firm about outstanding accounts
Extra points for
- Experience with hospital case management and pre-auth
- Worked for a specialist discipline such as radiology, anaesthesia or orthopaedics
