Guests at this busy mall coffee shop in Johannesburg CBD come back for the people, and you'll be one of the reasons. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.
Home base is a busy mall coffee shop on the Johannesburg CBD side of Gauteng.
What your day looks like
- Split bills, process card payments and handle tip-outs at the end of shift.
- Restock the bar fridges and help with the weekly stock count.
- Refuse service to anyone under 18 or visibly drunk, as the Liquor Act requires.
- Mix cocktails, pour draught and serve shooters to spec at the bar.
- Check back two minutes after mains land and fix problems on the spot.
Must-haves
- Quick with basic maths and card machines
- Happy to work nights, weekends and public holidays
- Own transport or a safe way home after late shifts
- Grade 10 or higher; matric is a plus
- Neat grooming and a friendly manner under pressure
Extra points for
- A barista course certificate or latte-art skills
- Wine knowledge from a WSET Level 1 or wine farm stint
