Information Security Administrator - Soweto

About the RoleOur client is seeking a proactive Information Security Administrator to support their security infrastructure and operations, based with a remote-friendly policy near Soweto, Gauteng .
This role is fundamental in ensuring the day-to-time security of our systems, including managing security tools, monitoring for threats, and assisting in incident response.
You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of our digital assets.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of IT security principles and a strong desire to learn and grow within the cybersecurity field.
This position offers flexibility for remote work, with potential for occasional collaborative sessions in the Soweto, Gauteng area.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister and maintain security systems, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.Monitor security logs and alerts for potential security incidents.Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents under supervision.Perform routine security checks and vulnerability assessments.Support the implementation of security policies and procedures.Help in organizing and delivering security awareness training.Maintain documentation for security configurations and procedures.Collaborate with IT team members on security-related tasks.Assist with user access management and account provisioning/deprovisioning.RequirementsDiploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.1-2 years of experience in IT support or a junior security role.Basic understanding of networking concepts, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common security threats.Familiarity with security tools and concepts.Good analytical and problem-solving skills.Eagerness to learn and develop skills in cybersecurity.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with potential for remote work and local engagement near Soweto, Gauteng .
