You will be a Commercial Card Product Manager for a South African bank, responsible for delivering the Commercial Card strategy, including virtual card initiatives, and significantly boosting the profitability of the Commercial portfolio. You will manage the entire product lifecycle, build high-quality roadmaps, and drive business growth while ensuring exceptional customer experience.

You'll be a key driver in defining and executing the Commercial Card strategy, including virtual card solutions, with the ultimate goal of boosting the Commercial portfolio's profitability and consistently exceeding customer expectations. You will own your initiatives from ideation to post-launch optimization, building and managing high-quality product roadmaps, and identifying and solving business problems. This is not just an execution role; you will strategize appropriate go-to-market plans, drive penetration of card products across commercial sub-segments like Large Markets and Corporates, and optimize customer lifecycle management through targeted campaigns. You will also enable the frontline sales teams with the necessary knowledge and support to effectively sell the product.

What you'll do

• Manage the Commercial card (credit and virtual cards) product lifecycle with high impact.
• Build and manage high-quality product roadmaps based on client business vision and strategy.
• Define business problems, desired customer experience, vision, and product strategy.
• Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and potential partnerships from an ROI and build-vs.-buy perspective.
• Partner with client teams to secure resources, scope efforts, set project priorities and milestones, and drive onboarding and enablement of key products.
• Manage prioritization and trade-offs to ensure the right features are built with the right quality at the right time.
• Drive penetration of card products within Commercial sub-segments (Large Markets, Corporates, etc.).
• Strategize appropriate go-to-market and launch plans for key products, in conjunction with client Marketing.
• Optimise the customer lifecycle management and portfolio performance through campaigns, etc.
• Work with credit to drive efficiencies that support sales growth, like, optimising credit appetite, driving immediate scoring and removing barriers to better support sales.

Requirements

• You have 5-10 years of overall experience in banking or financial services, with at least 3 years in a management role.
• You possess mandatory prior experience in credit card product management, financial services, or credit card operations.
• You have experience managing the entire credit card product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and post-launch optimization.
• You have a proven track record of developing and driving execution of product strategy, as well as strong technical pre-sales and implementation skills.
• You are highly effective in managing cross-functional teams and can manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
• You are familiar with Agile frameworks for iterative product development and delivery.
• You have a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Commerce.
• You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
