Inventory Supervisor

CWare is recruiting an Inventory Supervisor for a client based on the East Rand.

This is a hands-on warehouse inventory role focused on stock accuracy, cycle counts, replenishment, damages, expiries and supplier returns. The successful candidate will manage a team of stock clerks and inventory assistants, investigate variances, and keep stock moving accurately through the warehouse.

Inventory Management

• Facilitate daily stock counts with the inventory team and investigate variances, providing accurate and detailed reports to management
• Work closely with other departments to keep stock flowing from IBTs to locations and clear backlogs to avoid imbalances and shrinkage
• Manage and execute weekly cyclical stock counts and investigate variances
• Prepare the warehouse for semi-annual stock counts and maintain stock accuracy through consistent inventory management, supplier returns, damages, expiries and IBT management
• Manage daily and weekly demand replenishments and forced replenishments to keep picking accurate and efficient
• Investigate short pick reports and provide detailed feedback on reasons and actions, maintaining a short pick percentage of less than 2%
• Manage stock rotation and daily expiry checks to reduce write-offs
• Manage warehouse damages and stock returned for credits, including follow-up on credit notes and correct system processing
• Manage the supplier returns and credits process for warehouse damages and recalls
• Ensure damaged stock does not build up by arranging frequent supplier collections and following up on credit notes
• Prepare weekly KPI reports and daily handovers to management
• Work closely with departments to maintain a high level of stock accuracy through communication and reporting

Staff Management

• Manage a team of stock clerks and warehouse inventory assistants
• Drive a culture of accountability and responsibility
• Work closely with all warehouse departments and the support office
• Contribute to the achievement of warehouse KPIs
• Take corrective action where there is deviation from agreed processes, policies or procedures

• Minimum 2+ years relevant inventory / warehouse experience
• Experience with stock counts, variance investigations and inventory accuracy
• Experience managing or supervising stock clerks / inventory assistants (advantageous)
• Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
• Ability to work with warehouse systems and inventory processes
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work across departments
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment

R16,000 – R20,000 per month, dependent on experience.
