Shift Supervisor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Shift Supervisor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor product quality;
- Collating information and drawing up KPI’s;
- Performance management of the team to achieve KPI targets;
- Monitor machine performance;
- Monitor product cycle times;
- Correcting any deviations from standard operating conditions (machine settings and process cycle times);
- Reporting deviations from standard operating conditions to Manufacturing Manager;
- Management of staff including the planning of hours and taking appropriate action relating to absenteeism;
- Conduct disciplinary enquiries and grievances in line with agreements and Company procedures;
- Ensure a safe and healthy work culture and environment;
- Motivating and leading a team to achieve shift KPI’s.
Requirements:
- Recognised and/ or related tertiary qualification ( essential);
- At least 5 to 7 years working experience in a plastics environment;
- Supervisory skills ( essential ) – ability to manage a shift comprising up to 55 people;
- Ability to execute tasks and plan successfully;
- Matric;
- Injection Moulding knowledge and working experience ( essential );
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 ( advantageous );
- Self motivated – results orientated;
- Understanding of Production Managerial principles;
- World Class Manufacturing methodologies and technologies mindset ( advantageous ).
