Group Accountant Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Group Accountant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances;
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition;
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements;
- Support month-end and year-end close process;
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting;
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance;
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
Requirements:
- Big 4 Completed Articles;
- BCom Accounting Degree;
- CA(SA);
- 6-18 months post article experience;
- Determining subsidiary / company dividend payments taking into account tax, financial structuring and other considerations;
- Assist in the management of the OGL accounting function;
- Development and implementation of accounting policies for the group in compliance with IFRS and JSE requirements;
- Review and consolidation of operating company results, reporting to board, reporting group results on SENS and in the press at half year and year end;
- Tax management and compliance for OGL and the share trusts;
- Assist in developing group policies and procedures around internal financial governance;
- Preparation of board and audit committee books for the respective meetings;
- Management and oversight of the two employee share trusts.
