Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Reservations Consultant to join the reservations team of a well-established luxury hospitality group based in Johannesburg. This is an excellent opportunity for a polished and service-driven reservations professional with a strong understanding of the luxury hotel and lodge industry. The successful candidate will manage reservations from initial enquiry through to confirmation and payment, while building excellent relationships with guests, travel trade partners and the properties. Key Responsibilities Manage reservations from initial enquiry through to final confirmation and payment. Respond promptly and professionally to telephone and email enquiries. Provide accurate information regarding availability, accommodation options, rates and property facilities. Capture and maintain reservation information accurately within the reservations system. Follow up proactively on provisional bookings and outstanding confirmations. Process booking amendments and cancellations efficiently. Maintain strong relationships with guests, travel agents, tour operators and other trade partners. Assist with maximising occupancy and revenue through effective management of availability, rates and booking opportunities. Cross-sell and upsell properties and accommodation options where appropriate. Assist with waitlists and overbooking management. Prepare and issue guest or agent statements where required. Ensure guaranteed reservations are accurately confirmed within the system. Liaise closely with the properties to ensure guest requirements and booking information are communicated correctly. Handle reservation-related guest queries or complaints professionally and efficiently. Assist with rate distribution and ensure rates within the reservations system remain accurate. Monitor booking movements, trends and competitor activity. Assist with coordinating site inspections and familiarisation trips where required. Maintain a high standard of accuracy, professionalism and guest service at all times. Requirements Previous experience within hotel; lodge or hospitality reservations is essential. Experience handling reservations for multiple properties would be highly advantageous. Strong understanding of the luxury hospitality and tourism industry. Experience using a reservations or property management system; Semper experience would be advantageous . Good understanding of rates, availability, occupancy and reservation procedures. Exposure to OTA management would be beneficial. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Strong computer and administration skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to manage a busy workload and work effectively under pressure. Strong guest service and relationship-building skills.
