PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To drive customer retention, profitable sales growth, and volume expansion by developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, delivering value-added packaging solutions, and ensuring effective account management to achieve revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction targets
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain professional business relationships with existing key customers.
- Ensure excellent customer relationship management with consistent follow-up and an emphasis on problem solving / fit for purpose packaging.
- Expanding relationships and bringing in new customers
- Value added group services to maximise profit by up-selling or cross-selling
- Growing sales pipeline for prospects
- Establishing and ensuring internal budgets are being met
- Gather market information related to trends, needs of customers, development of packaging and innovation
- Selling innovation (design, grade, machine erect solutions) for margin enhancement and strategic entrenchment with customers
- Assisting with Debtors collections
- Assist with pallet collections
- Board grades rationalisation and innovation
- Cost saving projects – recoveries and Die Stereos
- Stock management initiatives – aged and redundant stocks
- Input in to negotiating and administering contracts and agreements relating to pricing, rebates, stock holding and SLAs with customers
- Implement price increases timeously.
- Accuracy of weekly, monthly and annual demand forecast.

- Experience in sales and providing solutions based on customer needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with aptitude in building relationships with professionals on all organisational levels.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Sound problem-solving and negotiation skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently
- Goal-oriented, organised team player
- Encouraging the team and staff
- Self-motivated and self-directed with input from leadership as required
- In-depth understanding of company key customers and their position in the industry
- Eager to expand the company with new sales, customer and territories
- Able to analyse data and sales statistics and translate results into better solutions
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Sciences.
- National Diploma in Sales and Marketing or an equivalent qualification will be advantageous.
- 3 – 5 years’ previous work experience in a demanding manufacturing environment
