About the RoleOur client seeks a highly skilled Senior Production Chemist to join their operations in George .
This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and safe production of oil and gas by addressing chemical challenges and optimizing process performance.
You will be responsible for troubleshooting production issues related to flow assurance, corrosion, and water treatment, developing chemical solutions, and implementing them across various operational sites.
The successful candidate will leverage their deep understanding of chemistry and its application within the Oil & Gas industry to enhance operational integrity and efficiency.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and implement effective chemical treatment programs for oil and gas production facilities.
Investigate and resolve production chemistry challenges, including scaling , corrosion , and emulsion problems.
Monitor and analyze chemical performance data to optimize dosage rates and treatment strategies.
Provide technical support and guidance to field operations teams on chemical applications and safety protocols.
Conduct laboratory analysis and interpret results to support product development and quality control.
Stay abreast of new technologies and advancements in production chemistry relevant to the Western Cape region.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in production chemistry, preferably within the Oil & Gas sector .
Proven expertise in areas such as corrosion inhibition, scale prevention, and demulsification.
Experience with laboratory analytical techniques and equipment.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
