Program Facilitator - Community Development

About the Role
Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Program Facilitator to lead community development initiatives in Benoni . This hybrid role requires you to engage with community members both remotely and in person, designing and delivering programs that foster skills development, social cohesion, and economic empowerment. You will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, motivating participants, and ensuring the effective delivery of program content. This position is vital for advancing the goals of Community & Social Care by equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge needed to improve their lives and communities. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, highly organized, and passionate about community upliftment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and deliver engaging workshops, training sessions, and group activities for community members.
Facilitate discussions, encourage participation, and create a supportive environment for learning and development.
Adapt program content and delivery methods to meet the diverse needs of participants.
Collaborate with community stakeholders, local leaders, and partner organizations to ensure program relevance and effectiveness.
Manage program logistics, including scheduling, participant registration, resource management, and venue coordination (for in-person sessions).
Assess participant progress and gather feedback to evaluate program outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate records of participant engagement, program activities, and achievements.
Promote program offerings within the Benoni community through various outreach channels.
Stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in community development and Community & Social Care programming.
Requirements
A relevant qualification in Community Development, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience (1-1 years) in facilitating group sessions, training, or program delivery, preferably in a Community & Social Care context.
Excellent facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to engage effectively with diverse community groups and motivate participants.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing program logistics.
Proficiency in using virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Meet) and standard office software.
Knowledge of community needs and resources in the Benoni area is a plus.
Willingness to travel within the Benoni region for in-person facilitation and outreach.
