About the RoleOur client, a prominent automotive Tier 1 supplier situated in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, ZA , is seeking an experienced Senior Automotive Infotainment Systems Engineer.
This role is dedicated to the design, development, integration, and validation of cutting-edge infotainment systems, including navigation, audio, connectivity, and user interface technologies.
You will be at the forefront of creating intuitive and engaging in-car experiences for drivers and passengers.

Key ResponsibilitiesDefine system requirements and specifications for automotive infotainment systems based on product roadmaps and customer needs.
Oversee the design and development of hardware and software components for infotainment units.
Manage the integration of various subsystems, including audio, navigation, connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular), and display technologies.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for system validation, performance testing, and quality assurance.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex integration issues and bugs throughout the development lifecycle.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to ensure intuitive and user-friendly interfaces.
Ensure compliance with automotive standards and regulations relevant to infotainment systems.
Work closely with suppliers to evaluate and integrate third-party technologies and components.
Stay abreast of emerging trends in consumer electronics, mobile technologies, and automotive HMI.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the infotainment engineering team in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga, ZA .
RequirementsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive infotainment systems development or a closely related field.
Proven expertise in embedded systems design, software integration, and validation.
Strong understanding of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and diagnostic protocols (UDS).
Experience with operating systems commonly used in embedded systems (e.g., Linux, QNX, Android Automotive).
Familiarity with multimedia codecs, audio processing, and digital signal processing (DSP) concepts.
Knowledge of connectivity technologies (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE/5G) and their integration.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
Strong communication, collaboration, and project management capabilities.
Experience working in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site collaboration with remote development tasks.
