You'll wire, fault-find and certify installations for the food processing plant in Benoni. If you turn up on time and finish what you start, you'll fit in quickly.
Location: Benoni, Gauteng. Applicants who already live in the area get looked at first.
What your day looks like
- Quote small jobs for clients and explain the fault in plain language
- Terminate armoured cable and fit glands on three-phase motor supplies
- Complete job cards, material lists and test reports at the end of each job
- Run conduit, trunking and cable tray on new builds and renovations
- Replace faulty light fittings, plugs, geyser elements and thermostats
- Supervise and teach an electrical assistant or apprentice on site
Must-haves
- Electrical trade test certificate (Section 13 or 26D) through a QCTO-accredited centre
- Registered with the Department of Employment and Labour as an Installation Electrician or holding a Wireman's licence
- Valid Code 08 driver's licence
- Comfortable working at heights on ladders and in roof spaces
- Clean criminal record, since you will work inside client homes
- At least 3 years working as a qualified electrician after your trade test
Helpful, not essential
- Solar PV installation training and experience with hybrid inverters
- Master Installation Electrician registration for three-phase CoCs
