A growing technology business operating within the cybersecurity sector is looking to appoint a commercially astute and hands-on Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team.

The organisation has an established international footprint across Southern Africa and selected international markets.  As the business continues to expand, it requires a CFO who can take ownership of the finance function while playing an active role in the broader strategy, operations and growth of the organisation.

This is not a purely reporting-focused CFO position. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO and executive team, contribute at Board level and act as a strategic and commercial partner to the business.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the full finance function, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, taxation and compliance.
• Partner with the CEO and executive leadership on business strategy, financial planning and commercial decision-making.
• Provide meaningful financial insight to support growth, profitability and operational performance.
• Oversee budgeting, cash flow, financial controls and overall financial governance.
• Prepare and present financial and strategic information to the Board and Executive Committee.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives and expansion across local and international operations.
• Oversee statutory and corporate governance requirements, including company secretarial responsibilities where required.
• Maintain compliance and good standing across the jurisdictions in which the business operates.
• Oversee broader Human Capital and office administration functions falling within the CFO portfolio.
• Develop and improve financial processes, systems and controls as the organisation continues to scale.
• Work closely with operational and commercial teams to ensure finance remains an enabler of business performance.

Minimum Requirements:

• CA(SA) – non-negotiable.
• Minimum 3+ years' experience at senior finance leadership / executive level , ideally with exposure beyond a purely technical finance role.
• Strong experience across financial management, budgeting, reporting, compliance and commercial finance.
• Experience operating as a strategic partner to a CEO, executive team and/or Board.
• Exposure to technology, IT, cybersecurity or a related environment would be highly advantageous.
• Experience within an international or multi-jurisdictional business would be advantageous.
• South African citizenship is required.
• Previous exposure to governance, company secretarial responsibilities, Human Capital or broader business administration would be beneficial.
