Relevant Short-Term Insurance qualification will be advantageous. RE5 qualification Class of Business completed (preferred). Minimum 3-5 years' underwriting experience within the Short-Term Insurance industry. Previous experience with Commercial and Transport Insurance is essential. Experience with Goods in Transit (GIT), Fleet, Commercial Vehicle and Liability policies will be advantageous. Computer literate (MS Office). Excellent communication and client service skills. Valid driver's license and own reliable transport. Duties & Responsibilities: Underwrite new and existing commercial and transport insurance policies. Assess insurance risks and provide suitable cover recommendations. Prepare quotations, policy amendments and renewals. Underwrite Goods in Transit (GIT), commercial vehicle, fleet and related transport risks. Review policy wording, terms, conditions and endorsements. Liaise with brokers, insurers and clients regarding underwriting requirements. Negotiate premiums, terms and conditions with insurers. Ensure underwriting complies with company and insurer guidelines. Assist with policy renewals and retention of existing clients. Maintain accurate client records and policy documentation. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers and insurers. Provide professional advice on appropriate insurance solutions. Assist with claims queries where required. Ensure excellent customer service and turnaround times.
