Salary: R23,000 R25,000 per month Overview An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced Restaurant Manager to join a prestigious fine dining operation in Franschhoek. The successful candidate will oversee the full restaurant service and operations, while playing a key role in delivering an exceptional guest experience. This is an exciting opportunity for a polished hospitality professional to work alongside a talented Executive Chef with a strong focus on sustainability and local, indigenous produce. Requirements Tertiary qualification in Hospitality Management. Minimum 5 years experience within a luxury 5-star establishment. Minimum 3 years Hotel or Restaurant Management experience. Minimum 3 years Food & Beverage experience preferred. Strong knowledge of luxury restaurant service and guest experience. Excellent knowledge of wines and beverages; wine and cocktail qualifications advantageous. Strong knowledge of Franschhoek and the surrounding Winelands, including local venues, properties and activities. Experience using POS and inventory management systems at operator level. Micros and Procure experience advantageous. Opera knowledge advantageous. Computer literate with strong Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Experience with staff training, rostering, performance management and recruitment. Strong understanding of health and safety procedures. Commercially astute with experience in stock control, cost management and minimising wastage. Able to handle guest complaints and sensitive situations professionally. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think on their feet. Confident managing conflict and challenging situations. Highly polished, positive and guest-focused. Strong attention to detail and high service standards. Team player with a hands-on approach. An additional international language would be advantageous. Key Responsibilities Oversee all restaurant service and front-of-house operations. Host guests and ensure a consistent, personalised experience. Assist guests with menu and wine selections. Record and communicate guest preferences and feedback. Lead; motivate and develop the restaurant team. Manage staff schedules, rosters, training and performance. Ensure service procedures and luxury standards are consistently maintained. Oversee seating capacity and maximise revenue without compromising the guest experience. Monitor health and safety compliance. Control operational costs and identify opportunities to improve profitability. Manage POS procedures and ensure accurate charging. Monitor stock levels, wastage and potential losses. Maintain appropriate PAR levels and coordinate supplier orders. Prepare departmental performance reports. Continuously identify and implement improvements to the restaurant offering. Assist with hotel functions and events as required.
