Dr Oetker SA is looking for a Quality Controller for our Johannesburg site.As a Quality Controller you need to ensure day to day enforcement, verification and documentation of adherence to the food safety and quality management system within the factory and production operations.What the Role EntailsConduct and document verification checks on the effectiveness of the PRPs, OPRP's and CCPs including but not limited to Factory hygiene, Allergens, Maintenance, Foreign objects, Pest control, Traceability, FIFO, GMPs, Measurement equipment and Chemical concentrations.Conduct pre-shift and post-cleaning inspections.Monitor and enforce adherence to production processes, quality specifications and document completion.Conduct shift start up and post cleaning inspections.Conduct scheduled training for operational staff.Conduct raw material and final product sampling and sensory evaluations.Initiate internal and supplier non-conformity reports, investigations and corrective actionsConduct customer complaint investigations, feedback and verify corrective actionsEnforcing Product on-hold procedures for non-conforming WIP and final product.Escalate quality and food safety risks to relevant supervisors and management.Participate in R&D, QA, Engineering and Production trials.Conduct final product positive release verifications and internal communications.Support receiving clerks for accept/reject decisions.Conduct Quality specific checks of raw materials and packaging.Conduct and report on traceability challengesContribute in the execution of major QA projects.Provide on-the-line guidance and support to operations and cleaning teams to meet and exceed quality and food safety specifications.Ideal Competencies Of The CandidateCommunication Skills (Verbal and Written)Detail and result orientatedSelf-assured but coachableAbility to work well in teamsGood organizational skillsGood time management skillsBasic report writing skillPreferred: Non-smoker (For the purpose of accurate sensory evaluation)Preferred Experience & QualificationAt least 6 months Quality controller experience in a food manufacturing companyFlexibility to work shifts as requiredQA related certifications advantageous.
