Executive Housekeeper

The purpose of this Executive Housekeeper role is to manage inventory and stock control and manage, train, and motivate front-of-house and kitchen staff.

This is an on-site role in Pretoria, Gauteng. Integrity, teamwork, and a customer-first mindset are at the core of how the team works. You will report to an approachable manager who values feedback and initiative. Qualified candidates are encouraged to get their applications in early.

A warm, service-oriented manner is essential in this customer-facing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare budgets, monitor revenue and costs, and implement measures to maximise profitability while maintaining quality.
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, fire safety, and liquor licensing.
• Handle guest complaints and feedback professionally, taking immediate corrective action and following up for satisfaction.
• Manage, train, and motivate front-of-house and kitchen staff to deliver consistently excellent service exceeding guest expectations.
• Prepare and cook food to the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety, ensuring all dishes meet quality benchmarks.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation of all areas including dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, and external spaces.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service orientation with ability to handle difficult situations and complaints with diplomacy and professionalism.
• A diploma or degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, or equivalent practical experience in the hospitality industry.
• Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as the hospitality industry demands.
• Strong leadership and people management skills to motivate a diverse team and maintain morale during busy service periods.
• Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and health and safety regulations for the hospitality industry.
