Banking Team Leader

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance Banking team and ensure delivery against team objectives.
- Oversee daily cash planning activities.
- Review the processing and allocation of insurance receipts.
- Oversee local and foreign payment processing and approvals.
- Review accounting journals and banking transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Manage business credit card expenditure reporting and reconciliations.
- Provide oversight of banking platform administration and support for online banking users.
- Review bank and clearing account reconciliations.
- Prepare and maintain banking reconciliation dashboards and ageing reports.
- Manage monthly VAT reporting and VAT submissions.
- Coordinate year-end audit deliverables and support audit processes.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
- Identify and implement improvements to finance systems, tools, and operational processes.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members to support individual and team growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Job Experience and Skills Required
- BCom Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within financial operations and/or banking.
- At least 3 years' experience managing and leading a team.
- Experience implementing and improving financial processes.
- Knowledge of accounting systems and ERP platforms, with SAP experience advantageous.
- Strong understanding of banking operations, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Experience managing audit requirements and compliance activities.
