Treasury Risk Manager

We are seeking a Senior Manager – Treasury Risk to join a high-performing Financial Risk Management team. This role offers the opportunity to work with leading financial institutions, helping them strengthen treasury frameworks, manage financial risks, optimise balance sheet performance, and navigate a complex regulatory landscape. 

As a trusted advisor and people leader, you will shape strategic solutions, lead complex engagements, and play a key role in growing a market-leading treasury risk practice. 

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the delivery of treasury and financial risk management projects from initiation through execution and completion. 
• Advise clients on treasury frameworks, governance, liquidity management, funding strategies, and financial risk management practices.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders to identify risks, improve processes, and implement sustainable solutions. 
• Drive business development initiatives through proposals, market insights, thought leadership, and client engagement activities. 
• Mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team while fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning. 
• Support the growth and market presence of the Treasury Risk team through innovation and strategic relationship building. 

What We're Looking For:

You are a commercially minded leader who combines strong technical expertise with exceptional stakeholder management skills. You thrive in complex environments, enjoy solving challenging problems, and can confidently translate technical concepts into clear business value. 

Key Skills & Experience:

• Strong understanding of treasury operations, processes, and governance.
• Experience in:
  • Asset Liability Management (ALM)
  • Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP)
  • Liquidity Risk Management
  • Capital Management
  • Hedging Strategies
  • Financial Performance Management
• Knowledge of liquidity planning, cash flow forecasting, funding strategies, and cash management. 
• Understanding of the regulatory and macroeconomic environment impacting financial institutions. 
• Proven project management and leadership capabilities. 
• Experience within banking, insurance, asset management, or broader financial services environments.

Qualifications:

• BCom Honours in Finance, Commerce, or a related field. 
• CA(SA), CFA, or other relevant professional qualifications will be highly advantageous. 
• Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience in treasury, financial risk management, consulting, or a related field.
