Development Manager

New development sourcing, designing and planning

• Source and identify potential property development opportunities by understanding development strategy and priorities, gathering development information, and getting approval.

• Provide technical expertise to new development concept designs by evaluating options, developing and getting alignment on proposals. .

• Prepare design briefs by engaging external professional consultants, ensuring recommendations align with Tuhf Capital's development agenda and strategy.

• Develop comprehensive cost estimates by briefing suppliers, reviewing quotations, identifying risks, factoring in contingency to determine project budgets.

• Manage projects to meet deadlines.

• Present development designs, feasibilities and costings to the Investment Committee to secure approval to implement development projects

• Identify and implement a suitable property management solution for each project

Funding support

• Secure funding, aligned with approved concept design.

• Provide technical insight on development costs to funding committees and banks, including responding to queries.

• Provide follow-up development progress information to internal funding committees as required.

Development planning

• Source and appoint service providers on new development projects.

• Schedule and conduct development service-provider meetings, including site visits/meetings.

• Negotiate design changes and technical amendments needed to meet feasibility requirements.

• Manage that development approvals, permits, and certifications are secured, filed, and available at all times.

Development project management

• Develop project plans - activities, timeframes, sequencing, dependencies, resource requirements.

• Manage project delivery: deliverables, timelines, progress monitoring, and corrective action on delays/risk.

• Manage project administration, certification/accreditation inspections, and project handover (commissioning, manuals, stakeholder training).

• Prepare and manage project budgets, tracking expenditure and processing service-provider payment valuations.

Stakeholder engagement

• Build stakeholder relationships across internal and external parties, managing engagement and addressing concerns.

• Build Tuhf Capital's brand, credibility, and reputation in the property-development industry.

• NQF 7 in Building Sciences, Construction Engineering, or similar. Relevant project management qualification required.

• At least 10 years' development project management experience. 3-4 years' experience on complex mixed-use precinct construction, cost, and programme management.

• 7+ years' service-provider management experience.

• IT: Word (intermediate), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint (basic), MS Project (basic).
