Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance brand awareness and positive media coverage for our client.
Craft compelling press releases, media kits, speeches, and other communication materials tailored for various media outlets.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and other media stakeholders.
Monitor media trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and potential risks.
Manage crisis communications, providing timely and accurate information to the public and stakeholders.
Organize and coordinate media events, press conferences, and interviews.
Measure and report on the effectiveness of PR campaigns, analyzing key metrics and providing actionable insights.
Collaborate with marketing and internal communications teams to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms.
Proactively identify and pitch story ideas to relevant media outlets to secure positive press.
Manage the company's online presence, including social media, and engage with online communities.
RequirementsBachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in public relations or corporate communications, preferably within an agency or corporate setting.
Demonstrated success in developing and executing successful PR campaigns and managing media relations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and persuasive storytelling.
Proficiency in media monitoring and analysis tools.
Strong understanding of media landscape, including digital, social, and traditional media.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote environment.
Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with media personnel.
Experience with crisis communications management.
Familiarity with SEO and content marketing principles is a plus.
Must be authorized to work in South Africa and have reliable internet connectivity.
