You'll keep the line running at a plastic moulding plant in Richards Bay, feeding, checking and packing product all shift. Expect to be trusted with real work from your first week.
This post is Richards Bay-based, with most of your time spent at a plastic moulding plant.
The work, day to day
- Help the machine operator clear jams and reload hoppers
- Feed raw material or empty packaging into the machine at the start of the line
- Clean down machines and floors at the end of each run
- Follow lock-out procedures when helping with cleaning inside machines
- Stop the line with the emergency stop if anything jams or looks unsafe
- Hand over at shift change with notes on rejects and stoppages
What you need
- Basic reading and counting for batch sheets
- Available for rotating day and night shifts
- Neat, reliable and on time for shift start
- No problem wearing full PPE, including ear protection
- Grade 10 minimum, matric an advantage
- You follow hygiene rules without being reminded
Nice if you have
- Previous work in a food or FMCG factory
- NQF Level 2 manufacturing learnership completed
