Vacancy: Assistant Resident Engineer
HWA Engineers & Project Managers invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Resident Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
•Assist in the supervision and administration of water reticulation and bulk water infrastructure projects.
•Assist in monitoring construction activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, specifications, quality standards, and contract requirements.
•Assist in supervising the construction of water storage facilities, including concrete reservoirs, elevated tanks, and ground storage tanks.
•Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of pumps, pump stations, and associated mechanical and electrical equipment.
•Assist with testing, commissioning, handover, and close-out of projects.
•Verify completed works, maintain project records, and assist with progress reporting and payment certification.
•Conduct site inspections, monitor contractor performance, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
•Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
Minimum Requirements
•NQF Level 6 qualification in Civil Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
•Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in water reticulation systems, bulk water supply projects, construction of concrete reservoirs, elevated and ground storage tanks, as well as the installation and commissioning of pumps and pump station equipment
•Experienced in site supervision, quality control, contract administration, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project specifications
•Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills
•Ability to work independently and within a team environment
