SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Commercial Manager with a proven track record in the fruit industry, particularly in stone fruit . The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new markets (both local and export), sourcing fruit for the packhouse, maintaining producer relationships and conducting market analysis to support strategic decisions.

POSITION INFO:
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and manage commercial strategies for both domestic and international markets.
Identify and establish new sales channels for stone fruit.
Build and maintain strong relationships with producers, customers, and key industry stakeholders.
Ensure sustainable fruit supply to the packhouse through effective collaboration with growers.
Analyse market data, pricing trends, and consumer behaviour to inform marketing and sales strategies.
Negotiate contracts and secure profitable agreements for the company.
Work closely with the finance team to compile budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.
Provide regular reports to the executive team on sales performance, market developments, and opportunities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in the fruit industry, with specific exposure to stone fruit.
In-depth knowledge of both local and international fruit markets.
Strong background in marketing and commercial management.
Proven ability to conduct market research and analysis.
Excellent financial and analytical skills.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills in both Afrikaans and English.
Tertiary qualification in a commercial, marketing or equivalent field (e.g., BCom , or equivalent).
Self-motivated, strategic thinker, and able to work independently.
Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally and abroad as needed.
Experience with export logistics and international trade regulations.
Existing relationships with clients and agents in the export industry.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS (NOT MANDATORY):

Experience in contract negotiation and risk management.
Experience in the citrus industry.
