Costing Clerk

Compile data, compute fees and charges, and prepare invoices for billing purposes. Duties include computing costs and calculating rates for goods, services, and shipment of goods; posting data; and keeping other relevant records. May involve use of computer or typewriter, calculator, and adding and bookkeeping machines.

Our company is looking for a Costing Clerk to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Update calculation spreadsheets when new or improved manufacturing processes are established;
  • industry standard and updating these costs on the database to enable estimation of costs for tender;
  • and actual labour times;
  • Update reports when necessary;

  • Conduct variance analysis when a variance is reported by a relevant stakeholder;
  • sales personnel to be included in the tender before the tender deadline closes;
  • Estimate manufacturing methods/times and material costs using the relevant database and send to;
  • Maintain database of costs for various types of raw materials by benchmarking costs of items to;
  • Submit accurate prices on time to Proposals department;
  • Calculate selling price using the agreed mark up as per the Sales Budget;
  • purposes to be within 5% of actual costs if order is received;
  • Run reports as per departmental procedure;
  • Set up costing reports and send to managers for approval as per departmental procedure;
  • in order to maintain accurate costs on the system.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 with Mathematics / N3;
  • 2 years relevant estimating/costing experience in a technical environment;
  • Manufacturing/Mining industry experience required;

  • Following up on Debtors / outstanding monies;
  • Statements;
  • Matric;
  • Able to work from 07h00 – 17h00 Mondays to Fridays;
  • Final Costings.
