Compile and compute data according to statistical formulas for use in statistical studies. May perform actuarial computations and compile charts and graphs for use by actuaries. Includes actuarial clerks.

Our company is looking for a Actuarial Analyst to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with capital calculations for purposes of pricing new products;
  • Assisting with the various statutory returns and other compliance-related tasks;
  • Involvement in the communication of the results to various stakeholders;
  • Calculation of Investment Guarantee Reserves;
  • Providing the reporting information required for the ORSA (Own Risk and Solvency Assessment);
  • Production of the quarterly Regulatory capital reporting, including an analysis of change;
  • Calculation of management actions for Smooth Bonus and Dynamically Hedged products;
  • Stress testing and scenario analysis.

Requirements:

  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Degree with 13 – 15 subjects passed;
  • Client-facing experience essential;
  • Strong interpersonal, network and negotiation skills;
  • Strategic thinker;
  • Product development and pricing experience in Life insurance;
  • Honours advantageous with good progress with Actuarial Credits through ASSA;
  • Marketing exposure and experience;
  • Minimum 3 years experience;
  • Ensure that the parameters used in the valuation are accurate and the results are reasonable;
  • Assist the Head of Actuarial Function through regular reporting and review of results;
  • A good understanding of Corporate Products will be a distinct advantage;
  • Collaborate with business to resolve any matters arising from the quarterly valuations, e.g. the need to re-price products;
  • Experience with stochastic models as well as experience with the complexities of running bespoke technical models essential;
  • Newly/nearly qualified actuary essential.
