Restaurant Manager is responsible for overall operations of the restaurant, which may include overseeing the staff, monitoring inventory, purchasing equipment and supplies, and ensuring quality customer service and compliance with all food and beverage regulations. Trains, hires, and schedules other employees. Being a Restaurant Manager requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to top management. The Restaurant Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Responsibilities:

  • Sets high standards for appropriate team behaviour on shift;
  • Is flexible in dealing with changes/problems;
  • Meet with sales representatives to order supplies such as tableware, cooking utensils, and cleaning items;
  • Seeks, listens and responds to Guest feedback;
  • Total receipts and balance against sales, deposit receipts, and lock facility at the end of the day;
  • Manage and overseeing meet/greet and advising of guests;
  • Oversee the dining area, supervises food and beverage service staff in accordance with operating policies that he or she may help establish;
  • Agreeing and managing budgets of the restaurant;

Requirements:

  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Enjoy training and able to lead and motivate a team;
  • English & Afrikaans | Bilingual;
  • Food and beverage (F&B) knowledge, with ability to remember and recall;
  • Proven guest service experience as a manager;
  • Strong leadership, motivational and people skills;
  • Familiarity with restaurant management software;
  • Must have a Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management;
  • Must be Fluent in English;
  • Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Restaurant Duty Manager or Hospitality Manager or similar role(4-6 years experience);
  • Must have at least 3-5 years experience in a 5* establishment(non-negotiable);
