Our company is looking for a Engineer — Electronic Services — Department of Facilities Management to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the maintenance budget to ensure that the required work is completed with the available funds;
  • Provide guidance to the Technical Manager and ensure that breakdown maintenance and small projects are effectively managed;
  • Investigate and evaluate existing and new technologies related to the University of Pretoria’s requirements;
  • Determine the user requirements related to the various electronic services applicable to the facilities management environment;
  • Review commissioning procedures and attend equipment commissioning;
  • Perform effective maintenance planning and execution according to business requirements;
  • Ensure equipment designs are in line with the established standards and specifications;
  • Ensure that designs are compliant with statutory requirements;
  • Establish standards for the equipment and systems to be implemented and operated.

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of the following electronic systems: CCTV systems;
  • Previous management experience;
  • Access Control Systems;
  • Fire Detection Systems;
  • Valid drivers license;
  • Physically able to visit sites where great heights and difficult access are involved;
  • A degree in Electonic Engineering plus six years of post qualification and relevant experience; OR;
  • A National Higher Diploma in Electronic Engineering plus six years of post qualification and relevant experience;
  • IT networks;
  • Professional registration engineering institute/council.
