5* Restaurant General Manager Job Description Template

Our company is looking for a 5* Restaurant General Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Cost controls;
  • Dealing with customers, compliments and complaints, following up etc;
  • Opening and closing duties;
  • Identifying and implementing important restaurant and service procedures;
  • Conducting staff performance evaluations;
  • Assisting in all areas where needed;
  • Implementing and following the rules of the company;
  • Presenting a positive image of the company;
  • Daily Cash-up;
  • Managing a large staff complement;
  • Will be responsible for all operations of the restaurant;
  • Maintaining and sustaining top service levels;
  • Checking that all duties have been completed by floor staff;
  • Maintaining dress code standards;
  • Managing both FOH and BOH procedures as required in a standardized GM role.

Requirements:

  • Good knowledge on duties and procedures in a restaurant environment;
  • Knowledge of Pilot software;
  • Experience in large and fine-dining restaurants is required;
  • The applicant should have at least 3 years GM experience in the hospitality industry;
  • Post-matric qualification is advantageous (especially relating to the field of work);
  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate or equivalent;
  • Computer knowledge (word, outlook, excel).
