Microsoft Systems Engineer Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Microsoft Systems Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Problem solving of server related network and hardware problems;
- Ensures procedures for seamless cutover to disaster recovery are up to date;
- Security: Setting up / controlling up to the operating system level. Implements and maintaining security policy standards;
- Managing and testing of changes;
- Setup and Maintenance and review of Active directory structure;
- Setup and maintenance of the file servers and DFS replications;
- Maintain the disaster recovery in the all the Microsoft environments;
- Systems configuration management;
- Full Exchange system support and maintenance (System and User Level);
- Complete and accurate reporting;
- Responsible for daily backup procedures on Microsoft environments;
- Reporting and customer interaction. Service and change management;
- Maintenance, repairs and upgrades on server hardware;
- Skills transfer to other systems engineers;
- Administration, support and maintenance of VMware hypervisor.
Requirements:
- Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certification (MCSE) or equivalent Microsoft certification;
- Matric;
- Relevant IT Degree or Diploma;
- IT Network knowledge;
- Minimum of 5 — 8 years’ experience in a Microsoft systems support and maintenance role;
- 5 — 8 years’ experience on Microsoft Exchange servers, Microsoft Active Directory servers and Microsoft Hyper V environments.
