Quantity Surveyor Job Description Template
Our company is looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Where necessary prepare BOQ from drawing’s for emergent work which has not been captured in the AFC measure or the contracted scope of work;
- Prepare, review, approve and distribute authorised commitment values for contracts;
- Where necessary agree field run measures with the contractors Quantity Surveyor by field survey and prepare BOQ for agreement;
- Where required assist the Contracts Engineer in the evaluation of contractor’s claims, including analysis of any additional costs;
- Provide effective feedback and records for Manager Construction Contracts;
- Actively engage Contractors QS in the review and agreement of AFC measurements, BoQ and star rates;
- Prepare/approve and issue payment certificates and ensure that they are in accordance with the requirements of the contract;
- Assist in the preparation and review of final accounts;
- Receive, review and issue to contractors AFC measurements and BOQ received from project task force or IEC.
Requirements:
- BSc: Quantity Surveying;
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience;
- contactable references;
- Must be affiliated with the SACQSP;
- Extensive experience on large building projects commercial and residential;
- Must be proficient in MS Office Suite and CCS;
- BSc/BTech in Quantity Surveying;
- 5-10 years experience on building projects;
- B.Sc or B.Tech in Quantity Surveying;
- Proficiency in Construction Costing Software (CCS);
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Minimum 3 years experience within construction or property development industry;
- Experience in Cost X or similar measuring software;
- Projects experience gained on residential and commercial building developments;
- Experience gained working for property development companies.
