A leading retail and FMCG organisation is looking for a Financial Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. Working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, you’ll play a key role in maintaining financial accuracy, strengthening controls and delivering insights that support smarter business decisions.
This is more than a numbers role. You’ll work across a complex, commercially driven business, partner with stakeholders across multiple functions and contribute to a culture built around performance, efficiency, continuous improvement and growth .

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
• Process journals and ensure accurate month-end reporting.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and statutory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls and company policies.
• Support internal and external audit processes.
• Monitor cash flow, fixed assets and capital expenditure.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to support commercial decisions.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls and improve efficiency.
• Partner with stakeholders to turn financial information into actionable insight.
• Support multiple business units within a large-scale retail and FMCG environment.
• Assist with resolving reporting, reconciliation and compliance matters.
• Drive process optimisation and continuous improvement across the finance function.

Job Experience & Skills Required

• BCom Finance, Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• 3–6 years’ commercial accounting experience.
• Experience within FMCG, retail, manufacturing or a large corporate environment.
• Strong ERP system experience; SAP advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Solid technical accounting and IFRS knowledge.
• Experience across the full accounting cycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Commercially minded, proactive and confident engaging with stakeholders.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• A genuine interest in using finance to drive business performance.
