Diesel Fitter (Forklift Fleet)

Keep trucks on the road and earning at the earthmoving plant hire company in Pretoria West. It's the kind of job where doing the basics well every day gets you noticed.

Home base is an earthmoving plant hire company on the Pretoria West side of Gauteng. Shifts rotate, so you'll need to be flexible about days and nights.

What you'll actually do

• Inspect tyres, fifth wheels and kingpins for wear and damage
• Carry out pre-roadworthy checks before the vehicle goes for COF testing
• Repair gearboxes, differentials and clutches on heavy vehicles
• Fault-find AdBlue and aftertreatment systems on newer engines
• Attend roadside breakdowns in the service truck

Must-haves

• Physically fit for work under trucks and on pits
• Code 14 licence so you can move and test trucks
• Willing to do standby and roadside call-outs
• Diesel mechanic trade test certificate
• At least 3 years on heavy commercial vehicles or plant
