A leading FMCG Manufacturing client of ours is seeking a Financial Accountant for their Cape Town office in the Southern Suburbs, reporting to the Finance Manager
- Prepare accounting transactions and ensure accuracy in financial reporting up to management accounts
- Investigating unexpected variances in the profit & loss account
- Preparing & reviewing monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
- Assistance in annual budget preparation and reporting
- Assistance of financial year end lead schedule preparation and reporting
- Maintaining effective financial controls and reporting structures
- Contributing to the daily functioning of the finance team and its performance
- Assisting with ad hoc assignments and projects
To be considered for this position candidates will need to meet the following criteria;
- CA (SA) OR Bachelors degree in accounting or related field, AGA(SA) / Professional Accountant (SA) with 3+ years of experience in a similar role
- SAP experience or knowledge would be advantageous
- Confident and independent person who is a fast learner
- Being a team player
- Ability to use own initiative and work with minimum supervision
- Able to work flexible working hours (overtime when/if needed)
- Able to work under pressure in order to meet strict deadlines
- A strong entrepreneurial ability
- An ability to think logically
- Be assertive and forthright
- Be enthusiastic, positive and self-energised
- Have strong relationship building skills
- Be highly computer literate (Excel)
- Be conscientious and tenacious and a motivator
- An ability to adapt to change quickly and effectively
- A strong financial and commercial aptitude
- An ability to see opportunities and turn them into reality
