Senior Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the successful delivery of large, complex multidisciplinary infrastructure and built environment projects on behalf of GIBB and its clients.

Acting as the primary interface between GIBB, clients, contractors, authorities, professional teams and other stakeholders, the Senior Project Manager will provide leadership to project teams, drive project execution excellence and ensure successful project outcomes that deliver value to both GIBB and its clients.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Delivery

• Lead multidisciplinary projects through the full project lifecycle from initiation to close-out.
• Establish project delivery strategies, execution plans and governance structures.
• Define project objectives, success criteria and key deliverables.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
• Provide leadership, direction and decision-making to project teams.
• Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration and delivery excellence.
• Ensure achievement of agreed client and business objectives.

Project Planning and Controls

• Develop and maintain integrated project execution plans and schedules.

• Monitor and control project scope, schedule, budget and resource allocation.
• Implement effective project controls and reporting systems.
• Monitor progress against approved baselines and implement corrective actions where required.
• Manage project changes through formal change control processes.
• Report project performance, forecasts and key risks to clients and GIBB management.

Financial and Commercial Management

• Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts and cashflow projections.
• Monitor project financial performance and profitability.
• Manage invoicing, work in progress and revenue recognition processes.
• Ensure effective utilisation of project resources.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Deliver projects that meet both client expectations and GIBB commercial objectives.

Stakeholder and Client Management

• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships.
• Facilitate project meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagements.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resolve issues proactively and maintain stakeholder alignment.
• Promote client satisfaction and identify opportunities for future work.

Contract and Risk Management

• Administer projects in accordance with applicable contractual frameworks and governance requirements.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Manage variations, claims, contractual correspondence and dispute resolution processes.
• Ensure contractual obligations are understood and fulfilled by all parties.
• Support project teams in contractual and commercial decision-making.

Quality, Governance and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with GIBB Quality Management Systems and project governance requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, standards and professional obligations.
• Lead project reviews, audits and quality assurance activities.
• Promote effective information management and document control practices.
• Maintain compliance with client and corporate governance requirements.

Team Leadership and Resource Management

• Lead, coordinate and support multidisciplinary project teams.
• Manage project resources and workload allocation.
• Coordinate inputs from subconsultants, specialists and external service providers.
• Mentor and develop project team members.
• Foster a high-performance and collaborative team environment.

Business Development and Proposal Support

• Support business development initiatives and strategic client engagement.
• Contribute to proposal preparation and tender submissions.
• Participate in project interviews and commercial negotiations.
• Support the identification of new project and client opportunities.
• Contribute to the growth and sustainability of the business.
