Junior Project Manager

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Manager to provide project coordination and project management support for a period of six (6) months. The successful candidate will assist with the planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of projects, ensuring activities are delivered within approved scope, budget, quality standards, and timelines. The role will involve working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and other relevant parties throughout the project lifecycle.

Duties & Responsibilities

Junior Project Manager to provide project coordination and project management support for a period of six (6) months. The successful candidate will assist with the planning, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of projects, ensuring activities are delivered within approved scope, budget, quality standards, and timelines. The role will involve working closely with internal stakeholders, contractors, and other relevant parties throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Coordinate project activities and ensure agreed actions and deliverables are completed within required timelines.
• Monitor project expenditure and assist in ensuring projects remain within approved scope and budget.
• Track project progress against agreed timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
• Prepare project status reports, progress updates, and other project-related reporting.
• Facilitate communication between project team members, contractors, clients, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
• Identify project risks, delays, and roadblocks, escalating issues where necessary.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting minutes, action logs, project plans, and progress reports.
• Support contractor management activities throughout the project lifecycle, from initiation through to final handover.
• Assist with project close-out activities and handover documentation.
• Ensure projects and contractors comply with applicable legislation, regulations, project specifications, and organisational requirements.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in project management, Business Management, Management, or a related field.
• A project management-related certification or qualification will be advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience in project management, junior project management, or project coordination.
• Experience coordinating projects from initiation, monitoring and control through to handover and close-out.
• Experience working with contractors and multiple stakeholders will be advantageous.
• Exposure to built environment, facilities, construction, or infrastructure projects will be advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Strong project administration, tracking, and reporting skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as Smartsheet, MS Project, Agile platforms, or similar systems.
• Ability to maintain project schedules, trackers, action logs, and project documentation.
• Ability to compile clear and accurate project progress and status reports.
