An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Game Developer to join a dynamic and growing development team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality games and real-time applications while collaborating with artists, designers, and fellow developers to deliver engaging player experiences.
This role offers the chance to work with leading game development technologies across Unity and Unreal Engine environments, contributing to innovative projects while utilising modern software development practices. - Develop and maintain games and real-time applications using Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Design, implement, and optimise gameplay systems and core game functionality.
- Write clean, maintainable, and extensible code following established coding standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including designers, artists, and producers.
- Debug, profile, and resolve technical issues across projects.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to software architecture decisions.
- Integrate and manage source control processes using Git and GitFlow.
- Ensure optimal performance and stability across supported platforms.
- Contribute to technical documentation and development best practices.
- Support the ongoing improvement of development workflows and game quality.
- Proven experience developing games or real-time applications using Unity 2018 or newer.
- Strong experience programming in C# and .NET.
- Proven experience developing games or real-time applications using Unreal Engine 4 (UE4).
- Strong experience programming in C++.
- Excellent knowledge of Unreal Engine Blueprints.
- Strong understanding of game development principles and software engineering best practices.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and/or C#.
- Experience working with Git and GitFlow version control methodologies.
- Strong debugging and code profiling skills.
- Ability to understand and contribute to existing code bases.
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
- Comfortable and productive in a remote working environment.
- Understanding of 2D and 3D graphics pipelines.
- Experience optimising game performance.
- Mobile game development experience.
- VR development experience.
- Console game development experience.
- Experience with DirectX or OpenGL APIs.
- Exposure to JIRA or similar task management tools.
- Computer Science, Engineering, or related qualification.
- A genuine passion for video games.
