Junior Logistics Controller (Ballito) KZN South Africa Distribution, Transport & Logistics Full time Description Our Client, in the FMCG Industry, is seeking a Junior Logistics Controller to support the Logistics Controller in coordinating, monitoring, and administering all inbound and outbound logistics activities, ensuring efficient movement of stock, accurate documentation, and timely deliveries. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Delivery Coordination Assist with scheduling and coordinating daily deliveries and collections. Monitor vehicle routes and delivery progress. Liaise with drivers regarding delivery schedules and issues. Communicate delivery updates to customers and internal departments. Assist in arranging urgent and special deliveries. 2. Transport Administration Prepare and verify delivery notes, waybills, and transport documentation. Ensure all proof of deliveries (PODs) are received, filed, and captured. Maintain accurate transport records and reports. Assist with vehicle utilization and route planning. 3. Inbound Logistics Coordinate incoming deliveries from suppliers and branches. Monitor receiving schedules and communicate any delays. Verify quantities and documentation against purchase orders and delivery notes. Escalate discrepancies and shortages to the relevant departments. 4. Outbound Logistics Ensure orders are dispatched accurately and on time. Monitor order status from picking through to delivery. Follow up on outstanding deliveries and customer queries. Assist with resolving delivery-related issues and customer complaints. 5. Tracking and Monitoring Track vehicles and deliveries throughout the day. Monitor logistics performance and identify potential delays. 6. Stock and Warehouse Support Liaise with warehouse staff regarding dispatch priorities. Assist with stock movement coordination between branches. Ensure dispatch documentation matches physical stock movements. 7. Reporting Compile daily, weekly, and monthly logistics reports. Monitor delivery performance indicators. Report on delivery failures, vehicle issues, and operational concerns. Assist with logistics cost tracking and analysis. 8. Compliance and Safety Ensure adherence to company logistics procedures. Maintain compliance with transport and food safety requirements. Promote safe loading, unloading, and transport practices. Report incidents, accidents, and non-conformances. 9. General Support Provide administrative support to the Logistics Department. Assist with leave cover for Logistics Controllers. Support continuous improvement initiatives within logistics operations. Perform any other logistics-related duties as reasonably required by management. Key Skills and Competencies Strong organizational and planning skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Minimum Requirements Matric Qualification would be a Huge Bonus Drivers Licence
