Technical Lead

Scope
The position reports to the Strategic Projects Program Manager and will be responsible forthe
successful delivery and operational handover of strategic utility projects by coordinating project activities, contractor performance, stakeholder communication, reporting, and contract execution across public and private sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Lead acts as the technical and operational backbone between customers, field
teams and internal departments, ensuring that projects are delivered accurately, on time and
to the required standard. The role combines hands-on systems knowledge with strong
coordination and problem-solving skills to keep operations running smoothly and customers
well supported.
Key Tasks
-Manage stakeholder expectations and customer communications
-Coordinate field and internal teams to maintain data accuracy and project efficiency
-Analyse and validate data to support operational and business objectives
-Provide business, technical, and product expertise for customer solutions
-Support Meter Data Management Systems (MDMS) operations and maintenance
-Oversee site activities and field operations to ensure smooth project execution
including contractor management
-Resolve customer and operational issues through effectiveproblem-solving
-Multi-taskacrossallproject-relatedactivitiesandmultipleprojectsfromproject
initiation through to project closure
-Ensure successful project delivery in line with customer and business requirements
-Ensureadherence torequiredhealthandsafetystandardsforcontractorsand
deployed field staff
Relevanttertiaryqualification(BEng/BTech/NationalDiplomainElectrical Engineering)
Experience in the public and private utility industry with electricity and water will be advantageous - Compulsory : Must have this experience
Effective and clear written and verbal communication skills
Valid Driver’s license and own transport as the position may require occasional travelling
Excellent interpersonal skills with a high level of self-motivation
Ability to operate independently
