Duty Manager | Luxury Safari Lodge | Northern KwaZulu-Natal
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a professional and guest-focused Duty Manager to join a luxury lodge in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. This role requires strong administrative skills, lodge experience, and proficiency in Opera, with the ability to oversee daily operations and deliver exceptional guest service in a remote safari environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior operational representative during assigned shifts
- Ensure seamless guest experiences from arrival to departure
- Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests with professionalism
- Oversee lodge operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Guiding, and Maintenance
- Conduct daily briefings and shift handovers
- Supervise staff on duty, ensuring correct appearance, conduct, and service etiquette
- Support training, mentoring, and development of junior team members
- Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards, including wildlife safety protocols
- Act as first responder during emergencies and ensure accurate incident reporting
- Complete daily operational reports, guest records, and handover notes
- Assist with stock control, cost awareness, and cash handling where applicable
- Liaise with Reservations and Head Office regarding guest movements and requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Strong administrative skills with Opera system experience (essential)
- Previous lodge experience in a luxury safari environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, professional, and solutions-driven under pressure
- Strong leadership and organisational abilities
- Valid driver's licence
- Cultural sensitivity and emotional intelligence
