Retail Branch & Operations Manager

SUMMARY:
Oversee all aspects of the daily operations, ensuring smooth functioning, profitability and customer satisfaction. Monday to Friday 08h00 - 17h00. Manage staff compliment of 15, inventory and sales, while also developing and implementing operational strategies to improve efficiency and enhance the customer experience.

POSITION INFO:
The Retail Branch and Operations Manager is responsible for the overall success of the branch, including managing daily operations, staff, inventory and sales to achieve financial goals and provide exceptional customer service. This position is based in Cape Town city centre, and operating Monday to Friday, 08h00 - 17h00. We are looking for a strong Branch Manager with Retail experience to also oversee the daily operations of the store/branch. Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily store operations, ensuring efficient and effective execution of tasks
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize workflow and reduce costs
• Manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing waste and maximizing profit margins

Staff Management:

• Recruit, train, and supervise staff, including sales associates, cashiers, and other support personnel
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and address employee concerns
• Manage employee schedules, leave and sick leave

Sales and Customer Service

• Monitor sales trends and develop strategies to maximize sales and profitability
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries and resolving complaints
• Implement merchandising strategies to enhance product visibility and appeal

Financial Management:

• Manage the branch budget, including expenses and revenues
• Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans
• Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures

Compliance and Security:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and company policies
• Maintain a safe and secure store environment for employees and customers

Cross Function Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other staff/departments such as despatch, sales, supply chain to achieve company objectives
• Maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers and walk-in customers

Education & Experience:

• Matric with relevant Retail qualification OR
• Proven experience in retail management, with a strong understanding of operations, sales and customer service

Skills:

• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
• Excellent communication interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail management software
• Familiarity with financial reporting and budgeting processes
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop effective strategies
