Financial Manager: Projects

The organisation is seeking an experienced Financial Projects Manager to lead finance transformation initiatives, optimise processes, strengthen financial governance, and deliver projects that create measurable business value.
Working closely with executive leadership and operational teams, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improvement, driving cross-functional projects, and ensuring finance processes, controls, and reporting capabilities continue to support the organisation's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Business Transformation

• Lead and manage strategic finance projects across multiple business units.
• Drive the implementation of finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate project plans, timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Monitor project outcomes and ensure successful delivery against business objectives.
• Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, financial reporting, and governance frameworks.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Evaluate existing finance processes and develop initiatives to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Drive standardisation and automation projects across the finance function.
• Perform root-cause analysis on operational and financial challenges and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support system enhancements and process optimisation initiatives to improve overall business performance.

Financial Governance & Controls

• Strengthen financial controls and support the implementation of best-practice governance processes.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and reporting requirements.
• Assist in maintaining the integrity of financial information and reporting frameworks.
• Support internal and external audit requirements and facilitate the implementation of recommendations.

Reporting & Strategic Support

• Review financial information and reporting outputs to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Assist with annual financial statements, financial reviews, and related reporting requirements.
• Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
• Monitor business performance and assist with strategic planning initiatives.

Stakeholder Management & Leadership

• Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to deliver key business projects.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to align finance initiatives with organisational objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members involved in project delivery.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Job Experience and Skills Required

• Qualified CA(SA) is essential.
• Relevant Finance or Accounting Degree.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in Financial Management.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in project-focused finance, business transformation, financial controls, process improvement, or a similar environment.
• Proven experience managing cross-functional projects and stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and people management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience driving process optimisation, system improvements, and automation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, and risk management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Highly organised, adaptable, and solutions-driven.
