Minimum Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent.
- Hospitality or Food & Beverage qualification is advantageous.
- Food Safety or HACCP certification is beneficial.
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience as a waiter in a hotel, lodge, restaurant, or hospitality environment.
- Experience in a luxury lodge or fine dining establishment is advantageous.
- Experience using a POS system is preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Basic knowledge of wines, cocktails, and other beverages is advantageous.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling bills and payments.
- Ability to upsell menu items and beverages.
- Knowledge of hygiene, food safety, and health & safety standards.
- Excellent guest service orientation.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Strong communication skills.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
- Reliability and punctuality.

- Previous experience in a luxury lodge, hotel, or resort environment.
- Knowledge of wine service and food pairing is an added advantage.
- Ability to communicate in multiple South African languages is beneficial.
