Hands-on from day one, the Civil Engineer will mentor and supervise junior engineers, conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify construction and monitor and control project budgets for a factory operation in Johannesburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities
- Develop detailed engineering designs, calculations, simulations, and technical specifications for civil, mechanical, electrical, or process systems.
- Monitor and control project budgets, schedules, and resources, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.
- Develop and implement preventative and predictive maintenance programmes for industrial plant and equipment to maximise reliability.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify construction or installation work complies with designs and quality specifications.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with relevant standards, codes of practice, health and safety regulations, and environmental legislation.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly communicated.
- Manage engineering projects from feasibility through detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes of practice, and regulatory requirements applicable in South Africa.
- Proficiency in engineering design and analysis software relevant to the discipline such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, ANSYS, or MATLAB.
- Strong project management skills including scheduling, cost estimation, and contract administration.
- A minimum of five to eight years of postgraduate engineering experience with demonstrable project achievements in the relevant sector.
- Professional registration as Pr Eng, Pr Tech Eng, or candidate registration actively working towards professional registration.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering in the relevant discipline from a university accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa.
