You'll care for and teach young children at a community creche in Burgersfort, from nappies to first letters. It's a practical job: you'll see what you got done before you go home.
This post is Burgersfort-based, with most of your time spent at a community creche.
What you'll actually do
- Chat to parents at drop-off and pick-up about how the day went
- Observe each child and note milestones in their development file
- Run morning ring with songs, weather and counting
- Follow the NCF daily programme and adapt it for each age group
- Feed, change and settle babies and toddlers on their routine
- Watch children closely outside and keep the play area safe
Must-haves
- Clear Form 30 child protection check and police clearance
- Able to follow hygiene and safety routines without cutting corners
- Experience caring for children in a group setting, even as a volunteer
- Matric
- ECD Level 4 or Level 5 qualification, or currently studying towards one
Helpful, not essential
- Basic music, art or movement skills for group activities
- Montessori diploma or Reggio-inspired training
